Roberto Di Matteo claims that he was "very happy" with Chelsea's performance in their 4-2 victory over Reading.

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo has said that he was "very happy" with his side's performance following tonight's 4-2 victory over Reading.

The Blues boss praised his side's display of teamwork, but claimed not to have clearly seen Fernando Torres's controversial goal, which replays revealed was offside.

"It was a very entertaining game for the supporters. We started very well, certainly until they equalised which knocked us back a bit," he said.

"We kept them under pressure and luckily got the equaliser which galvanised us and we kept going forward. I've not seen the replay [of the Torres goal]. I looked at the linesman straight away and he gave the goal.

"I'm very happy with the squad. We have a good team and we showed that. I must give compliments to Reading as they worked very hard."

Frank Lampard, Gary Cahill, and Branislav Ivanovic scored Chelsea's other goals this evening, with Danny Guthrie and Pavel Pogrebnyak on target for Reading.
