Chelsea captain John Terry has claimed that he looks to Ryan Giggs as an example as he plans for more success late in his career.
Terry's long stay as a Chelsea regular appeared to be over during Rafael Benitez's reign, but Jose Mourinho's return has seen the defender find his best form and his performances were key to their title triumph last season.
The 34-year-old played in every Premier League match last season and he believes that he can follow in the footsteps of Manchester United legend Giggs, who played until he was 40.
"In the last four or five years I've done a lot of extra work, not just at the training ground," he told Sky Sports News. "The kids are a bit older now so I get a bit more of a lie-in.
"Putting the effort in the gym, training ground, off the pitch and eat the right food, I'm hoping to carry on as a long as possible.
"There's an opportunity you see with players like Giggs of playing until a very big age."
Chelsea start the defence of their title against Swansea City on Saturday.
