Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard has paid tribute to Jose Mourinho for the impact he has had on his career.
The 35-year-old signed a contract extension with the Blues at the end of last season prior to the Portuguese boss returning to Stamford Bridge.
Having been reunited, Lampard has revealed just how much of a positive influence Mourinho had on him during his first spell at Chelsea.
"He told me I was the best player in the world, but if you want to be recognised you need to win titles and medals," Lampard told The Sun.
"Whether he meant it or not I'm not sure, but he certainly knew how to get the best out of me, as I thought that I needed to prove this bloke right.
"So for him to come back, for me personally, is brilliant."
Mourinho won five domestic trophies during his first three years at Chelsea.
