Jose Mourinho: 'Everybody will have a chance to play'

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho promises to make use of his entire squad over the course of the 2014/15 season.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has promised that everybody in his squad will be given the chance to play during the course of the season.

Chelsea have added Filipe Luis, Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa to their squad, and are particularly well-stocked in midfield.

Despite an abundance of talent, Mourinho has moved quickly to assure his players that everyone will get game time over the course of the next 10 months.

"You play 60 matches a season and you cannot play with the same players every time," Mourinho told the club's official website. "In the first three weeks you have one match per week but after that the cups start, the Champions League, internationals, so you have to rotate players.

"Everybody will have a chance, nobody will feel as though they are first choice or second choice. For example, in midfield we have Mikel, Matic, Ramires, Fabregas and Van Ginkel, so everybody will play and will feel useful, important.

"On the field we have a very good balance, even with the Under-21s. For example, (Andreas) Christensen isn't selected for Monday so he played for the Under-21s against Manchester City, they will have competition even when they are not selected by me."

While Chelsea have made three big summer signings, they have offset their arrivals by letting big earners such as Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and David Luiz leave the club.
