Chelsea forward Pedro claims that his side's 4-0 victory over Manchester United proves that they can challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Chelsea forward Pedro has claimed that his side's 4-0 thrashing of Manchester United on Sunday proves that they can challenge for the Premier League title this season.

The Spaniard opened the scoring after less than a minute on Jose Mourinho's return to Stamford Bridge, before further goals from Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante completed the rout.

Pedro revealed that the confidence shown in him by manager Antonio Conte has helped his own game, and believes that the manner of their win over United sends a message to other teams in the league.

"It's the way to show we can fight for the title," Pedro told Chelsea TV.

"For me it's perfect that Conte is confident with me. The work is perfect. The same work continues."

The win saw Chelsea climb into the top four, now just one point behind the leading pack of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
