John Terry: 'I'm not guaranteed a place in Chelsea team'

Chelsea captain John Terry admits that he is not guaranteed a place in the club's first team this season.

John Terry has admitted that he is not guaranteed a place in Chelsea's first team this season.

The club's captain, who has started both of their Premier League games so far this campaign, faces competition for a place in the team's back four from the likes of David Luiz and Gary Cahill.

The 32-year-old told Sky Sports News: "No guarantees you will be in the side, nothing. Whether you are captain or not, he made that very clear from day one.

"I don't think [Monday's game against Manchester United] is going to make or break the season. It could be one of them, a head-start for either side, but we have a good record going to Old Trafford over the last few years and that will serve us well.

"We know it is going to be a tough place to go and they have had a good win against Swansea, but the two wins for us will serve us well and we go there full of confidence."

Chelsea have made a 100% start to the new season, beating Hull City and Aston Villa in the opening week.
