A second half goal from Urby Emanuelson has secured AC Milan a 1-0 victory over Chelsea in Miami.
The first period started quietly but Chelsea were able to dominate possession from the beginning of the match.
Chelsea's £32m signing Eden hazard was the most threatening player on the pitch in the early stages and his long-range effort that missed the target was the closest chance for either team before half-time.
AC Milan improved in the second half, with Emanuelson forcing Petr Cech to produce a good save after a clever run from the wing.
The introduction of a number of substitutes from both sides caused the flow of the match to quickly diminish and it was the Italian side who were able to find the breakthrough with 20 minutes remaining.
Stephan El Saarawy was put through on goal after a long ball and when his shot was well blocked by Cech, Emanuelson was able to convert the simple rebound to give Milan the lead.
Despite plenty of attacking play in the closing minutes, Chelsea couldn't penetrate the Milan defence to find a late goal.
