Bayern Munich are reportedly prepared to make a sustained push to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen on a free transfer.

Bayern Munich reportedly remain keen to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen on a free transfer.

At one stage, the centre-back appeared certain to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge past the end of this season after establishing himself in Thomas Tuchel's back three.

However, with negotiations over fresh terms having been prolonged, the Denmark international appears more likely to take on a new challenge elsewhere.

While Barcelona have been suggested as a likely destination, Goal says that Bayern are not prepared to give up on the 25-year-old.

The Bundesliga leaders are in the market for a replacement for Niklas Sule, who is coincidentally said to be a target for Chelsea due to his likely free-agent status.

Despite making just outing for Chelsea since the turn of the year, Christensen's time on the sidelines has been due to injury and coronavirus, rather than Tuchel choosing to drop the player.
