A report claims that Jose Mourinho wants Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez to join him at Chelsea.

Premier League side Chelsea are reportedly keen to sign Bayern Munich centre-forward Mario Gomez this summer.

It is believed that Jose Mourinho will return to Stamford Bridge next month to manage the Blues for a second time and he has told officials that he would like a physical presence to lead his attack.

He has identified German international Gomez, who could be available if Bayern capture the services of Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowski, according to the Daily Mail.

The report went on to claim that Bayern would demand a fee in the region of £25m for their 27-year-old striker.

Gomez joined the Bavarians from Stuttgart in 2009, but a combination of injuries and the form of Mario Mandzukic saw him spend a lot of the most recent campaign among the substitutes.
