Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly keeping tabs on Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar ahead of the summer transfer window.

Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly among a number of clubs interested in signing Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar.

The 25-year-old is in his third season as a Roma player after joining the Italian club on a free transfer following his Benfica exit in 2022.

After experiencing a slow start to his Roma career, Svilar established himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper in the second half of last season.

The shot-stopper has featured in 42 competitive matches this season, including all 29 of Roma's Serie A fixtures.

Svilar has kept 11 clean sheets in Serie A this term, while he has made the third highest number of saves and boasts the second best save percentage according to FBref.

Chelsea, Man City monitoring Svilar

The goalkeeper's impressive performances appear to have caught the eye of two of the Premier League's biggest clubs.

According to Caught Offside, Chelsea and Man City are both keeping tabs on Svilar's current situation at Stadio Olimpico.

Svilar has a contract until the summer of 2027, but Roma could entertain offers if talks over a new deal fail to progress.

The player has been left unimpressed with Roma's most recent contract proposal, alerting his potential suitors ahead of the summer transfer window

Roma will allegedly demand around €35m (£29.2m) for Svilar if they decide to part ways ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.

Chelsea and Man City are not the only clubs shown an interest in Svilar, with Bayern Munich, Monaco and Newcastle United believed to be among his admirers.

Why could Chelsea & Man City move for Roma goalkeeper?

Chelsea's goalkeeper position has proven to be a problem area this season, with Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen both failing to demonstrate that they should be the long-term number one at Stamford Bridge.

Mike Penders will add to Chelsea's options when he arrives in the summer, while Djordje Petrovic is set to return to the club after spending a season on loan at Strasbourg.

Enzo Maresca's side could look to recruit another goalkeeper or opt to find a solution with one of their in-house options.

Meanwhile, Man City's search for a new shot-stopper is likely to depend on the future of their current number one Ederson.

The Brazilian was heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia last summer, and it remains to be seen whether there could be further transfer interest at the end of the current season.
