Borussia Dortmund reportedly offer Chelsea the chance to sign striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the January transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund have reportedly offered Chelsea the chance to sign striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January.

Aubameyang was heavily linked with a summer move away from the Bundesliga outfit, but since failing to see a transfer materialise he has been involved in a number of controversial incidents.

The Gabon international was suspended by the club for disciplinary reasons earlier this month and was then shown a red card in their incredible 4-4 draw with bitter rivals Schalke 04 on Saturday as Dortmund squandered a 4-0 half-time lead in the Ruhr derby.

Both incidents are understood to have further damaged his already-strained relationship with the club, and The Mirror claims that Dortmund have now informed some of Europe's top teams that he is available in January.

Chelsea are among the clubs to be interested in the 28-year-old as they look to add more firepower to their side in an attempt to chase down Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table.

Current striker Alvaro Morata has already scored eight top-flight goals this season, but manager Antonio Conte is keen to add support for the Spaniard having been left unconvinced by Michy Batshuayi.

Despite Aubameyang's disciplinary problems the striker has been in fine form this season, scoring 17 goals in 19 games across all competitions.
