Chelsea are reportedly contemplating an approach for Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez during the summer transfer window.
Gimenez was on the Blues' radar earlier in 2020, only for the Premier League outfit to decide that Atletico's asking price was too high.
However, according to Fabrizio Romano's Here We Go podcast, Chelsea will renew their interest at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old, who is currently valued in the region of £100m, has only made five starts in all competitions this season.
At a time when just two-and-a-half years remain on the centre-back's contract, Atletico may have to reassess their stance regarding the Uruguay international.
Chelsea are also said to be hopeful of handing a contract extension to veteran defender Thiago Silva.
