Chelsea will reportedly announce the signing of Roma full-back Emerson Palmieri on Monday in a deal which could rise to £22m.

Chelsea will announce the signing of Roma defender Emerson Palmieri on Monday, according to reports in Italy.

The Premier League champions are understood to have agreed an £18m fee for the full-back, with that figure rising to £22m including add-ons.

The 23-year-old has made just two appearances for Roma across all competitions this season, but Gazzetta dello Sport reports that he will complete his move to Stamford Bridge on Monday.

The Brazilian's switch to West London had initially been complicated by Chelsea's ongoing interest in teammate Edin Dzeko as the Blues were keen to include both players in one £44m deal.

However, Chelsea will now look to conduct separate talks for Dzeko as they try to further bolster their squad before Wednesday's transfer deadline.

Antonio Conte's side have made just one new signing so far this month, with Ross Barkley arriving from Everton for a fee of £15m.
