Chelsea will reportedly decide next week whether to promote Fikayo Tomori and Mason Mount to their first-team squad or send the promising pair back out on loan.
The two youngsters have spent the season with Derby County, where they have made a big impact in the club's push for promotion.
Tomori started 43 of Derby's 46 regular league matches, while Mount started 35 and played a direct part in 12 goals.
According to The Sun, Chelsea have yet to determine whether the pair are ready to make an impact in their first-team squad. If not, another season out on loan is the other choice.
Tomori, named Derby's Player of the Year, could potentially fill the void left by departing club captain Gary Cahill.
Due to Chelsea's impending transfer ban, meanwhile, Mount may also have a part to play next season as the Blues will be unable to further strengthen their squad.
