Chelsea's Kalidou Koulibaly is reportedly open to discussing a possible move to Al Ittihad, with Saudi Arabia interested in bringing the defender to the Pro League.

Chelsea's Kalidou Koulibaly has reportedly been approached by Saudi Arabia over a potential move to the Middle East this summer, with Al Ittihad understood to be a possible destination.

The defender made the £34m switch from Napoli to West London last summer, featuring under Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter and Frank Lampard during his first campaign as the Blues finished 12th in the Premier League.

Having racked up over 300 appearances during an impressive eight-year stint with the Serie A champions, it was hoped that the Senegal international would go on to have a similar impact at Stamford Bridge.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Koulibaly has been offered a route out of Chelsea this summer, with Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund keen on bringing the player to the Saudi Pro League.

The report claims that Al Ittihad is a possible destination for the centre-back, meaning he could join Karim Benzema at a club who pipped Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr to the title this season.

It is understood that Koulibaly is open to discussing a move to the Middle East, while Chelsea may be tempted to offload the defender as they look to cut down their bloated squad ahead of Mauricio Pochettino taking charge.
