Thibaut Courtois: 'Real Madrid agreement is false'

Thibaut Courtois slams reports that he has agreed to leave Chelsea and join Real Madrid in 2016 as "totally false".

Thibaut Courtois has rejected reports that he has agreed to leave Chelsea and join Real Madrid when his contract expires in 2016.

Reports from Spain emerged yesterday stating that the 21-year-old, who has been on loan at Atletico Madrid for the last three years, has agreed a deal with Los Blancos.

Courtois told AS: "An agreement with Real Madrid? This is totally false."

Questions have been raised over the shot-stopper's future, with widespread reports suggesting that Courtois may look elsewhere if he fails to secure regular first-team football with Chelsea.

While Petr Cech continues to occupy the number one spot, Courtois is expected to return to Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
