Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga could potentially be axed for the remainder of the season ahead of a summer exit, according to a report.

Chelsea will reportedly move for a new goalkeeper in this summer's transfer window, with Kepa Arrizabalaga potentially being axed for the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign.

The Spain international became the world's most expensive goalkeeper when he joined the Blues from Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 2018 for a figure in the region of £71m.

The stopper has largely struggled to find consistency during his time at Stamford Bridge, though, and his form during the current campaign has been widely criticised.

Kepa was left out of the side against Leicester City on Saturday, with 38-year-old Willy Caballero being handed the spot between the sticks.

According to Cope, the Spaniard could have now played his last game for the Blues as head coach Frank Lampard considers using Caballero for the remainder of the 2019-20 campaign before signing a new number one this summer.

Burnley's Nick Pope is allegedly being considered by the London giants, who remain fourth in the Premier League table despite losing eight league matches this term.

Kepa has only kept six clean sheets in 31 appearances at club level this season, conceding 43 times in the process.
