Liverpool are reportedly interested in securing a deal for Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo during one of the upcoming transfer windows.

Liverpool have reportedly identified Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo as a potential addition during one of the upcoming transfer windows.

The Merseyside giants have impressed on all fronts this season, helped by the return of Virgil van Dijk and possessing extra strength in depth in defence.

Nevertheless, according to El Nacional, the Premier League giants have registered an interest in Uruguay international Araujo.

During a difficult time for the Catalan giants, the 22-year-old has become a regular in the squad, making eight starts and six substitute appearances in all competitions this campaign.

However, the report suggests that Barcelona officials are yet to try to extend his contract, which currently expires at the end of 2022-23.

That has seemingly alerted the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea, who are currently dealing with uncertainty regarding a number of their centre-backs.
