Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek will reportedly not sign a new contract at Stamford Bridge until he is told that he will be used more regularly from next season.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is reportedly seeking assurances from Chelsea over more regular playing time before signing a new contract with the club.

The England international started just six Premier League matches in 2018-19 and was used from the off in 17 matches in all competitions.

Chelsea are rumoured to be keen to tie the 23-year-old down to a new long-term deal, with his current contract having just two more years left to run, but The Sun claims that Loftus-Cheek will not commit until he is told that he is a genuine part of the Blues' first-team plans.

Loftus-Cheek feels he should have been used more regularly over the course of the season, despite struggling with a niggling back problem.

The West London outfit are in the process of challenging their two-window transfer ban at the Court of Arbitration for Sport which, if successful, could see Maurizio Sarri bring in another new midfielder.
