Real Madrid offer Ashley Cole two-year contract?

Real Madrid reportedly offer Ashley Cole a two-year contract worth £8m in a bid to persuade him to move to Spain when his Chelsea deal expires in the summer.

Real Madrid have reportedly offered Ashley Cole a two-year contract worth £8m in a bid to persuade him to move abroad when his Chelsea contract expires.

The 33-year-old will be a free agent at the end of the season, and the Blues are seemingly reluctant to offer him anything more than a one-year extension.

Cole is believed to be weighing up his options, particularly after being usurped from the left-back spot that has been his own since he moved to Stamford Bridge in 2006 by Cesar Azpilicueta.

There would undoubtedly be a host of suitors for Cole, who has been capped 107 times by England, should be become available, and The Sun claims that Madrid are hoping to bring him to Spain.

Liverpool are also believed to be interested in signing the former Arsenal defender, but Los Blancos hope to lure him to La Liga with the security of a two-year contract and a wage packet to match his at Chelsea.
