Half-Time Report: Crystal Palace holding league leaders Chelsea

Premier League leaders Chelsea fail to dominate Crystal Palace in the opening half at Selhurst Park.

Top-of-the-table Chelsea are being held by fellow Londoners Crystal Palace in this afternoon's Premier League encounter at Selhurst Park.

After a stodgy start to the match, the Blues had a clear opening to take the lead in the 18th minute. Cesar Azpilicueta got to the byline down the left and crossed into the middle, but Andre Schurrle failed to stab home from close range.

Palace were more than holding their own and Yannick Bolasie had a half-chance before they should have been awarded a penalty just after the half-hour mark.

Again Bolasie was involved and he clearly appeared to be upended by Gary Cahill, but referee Jon Moss thought that the England international had made contact with the ball.

Palace ended the half stronger and threatened just before the interval when Jason Puncheon's shot fizzed over the top.
