Newcastle United interested in Chelsea's Ross Barkley?

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea's Ross Barkley in the upcoming January transfer market.

The window will be the first time that Eddie Howe is able to bring in his own players, which is something he will be keen to do with the new owners set to financially back him.

According to The Telegraph, Newcastle are looking at Barkley as an option to bolster their midfield, with the Chelsea star being an option the club is exploring.

The England international has only made four appearances for the Blues so far in the Premier League, struggling to break into the starting lineup on a regular basis.

The Magpies secured their first victory of this season when they were able to defeat Burnley by a goal to nil; however, the club remains in the relegation zone.
