Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud rubbishes reports that he could move back to France ahead of the new campaign.

Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud has rubbished reports that he could move back to France ahead of the new campaign.

The Frenchman, who was a World Cup winner earlier this summer, has been linked with a move away from West London to Marseille this summer, with the Ligue 1 outfit reportedly prepared to pay £13m for the forward.

Speaking to Le Dauphine, however, Giroud, who is expected to hold talks with Blues boss Maurizio Sarri over his role in the side, denied that he is currently interested in a move back to France.

"I have heard many things that have been said in the media. In the near future, my goal isn't to return to France. For now, I'm a Chelsea player," the 31-year-old said.

"I have no limits. I feel good physically, I'm still young. I have not set a date for my international retirement."

Giroud is unlikely to feature in Chelsea's first Premier League fixture next weekend due to his participation in Russia.
