Chelsea have had a £51m bid for Spanish striker Alvaro Morata rejected by Real Madrid, according to a report.
The Blues are said to be after a new forward during the off-season and have targeted the 23-year-old as the ideal player to join Antonio Conte's Stamford Bridge revolution.
Morata only officially rejoined Madrid from Juventus earlier this week in a £26.5m deal, having impressed during his stint in Turin, although the La Liga giants are prepared to offload at a higher price.
It is claimed by Spanish publication Marca that Los Blancos are looking to more than double their money on Morata, with the hope of finalising a transfer before the window closes.
Agent Juanma Lopez is understood to have held talks with Madrid on Friday to help push through a move from the Bernabeu, although Chelsea have been told to up their offer slightly if they are to win the race for the Spaniard's signature.
Morata, who scored three goals in four appearances at Euro 2016, last featured for Real in the 2014 Champions League final win over rivals Atletico Madrid.
