A report claims that Chelsea will make a £15m bid for Santos's Brazilian midfielder Thiago Maia at the end of 2016.

Chelsea will reportedly make a £15m move for Santos midfielder Thiago Maia at the end of 2016.

The Blues were strongly linked with a move for the Brazilian in the summer transfer window, but it is understood that Santos were unwilling to sell before the end of their season.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea will make an offer of £15m when the Brazilian campaign finishes in December, with the view to the defensive midfielder moving to Stamford Bridge when the winter transfer window opens.

Maia, who has already made 71 appearances for Santos, is contracted to his current club until 2019.
