Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare insists that his side are 'not a selling club' and will do their all to keep Danny Drinkwater away from Chelsea's clutches.

Craig Shakespeare has stressed that Leicester City will not be bullied into offloading Danny Drinkwater to Chelsea as they are 'not a selling club'.

The England international, who played a key part in the Foxes' famous title win of 2015-16, was linked with a surprise £30m switch to Stamford Bridge last week.

Leicester already risk losing Riyad Mahrez in the remaining weeks of the window, with Roma and Inter Milan expected to battle it out for his signature, and Shakespeare is keen to keep the remaining core of his squad in place.

"We don't want to be a selling club, we want to add to it," he told reporters when asked about the Drinkwater rumours. "We don't want to sell our best players. The speculation is always going to be out there at this time of year.

"You know when you have good players there might be an interest in them. You have to deal with reality but also keep a calmness about you as well."

Drinkwater, used 29 times in the Premier League last season, is to miss Friday night's clash against Arsenal due to a thigh injury.
