Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has insisted that he will continue to "work hard" as he attempts to make the Spain squad for the World Cup.
The 24-year-old, who has displaced Ashley Cole at club level, is expected to feature for La Roja against Italy this evening.
"I strive to be at the World Cup in Brazil and I work hard every day to get there," he told Marca.
"There is great competition in this, the best team in the world. It's a dream for me and I will work to be in the World Cup.
"I'm playing more on the left but in recent years I've played mostly on the right. Gradually I've been growing on the left as I've played most minutes there."
"I'm enjoying my new position. I'm lucky I can play on both sides."
The Spaniard has four caps to his name.
