How Colombia could line up against Argentina

Colombia manager Reinaldo Rueda has several decisions to make going into Wednesday's Copa America semi-final clash with Argentina, particularly around his attacking line.

Their struggles continued in front of goal, as the Atalanta duo Duvan Zapata and Luis Muriel failed to find the net inside 90 minutes, with Colombia having to defeat Uruguay in the penalty shootout to advance to the final four.

With all of their attackers lacking form in front of goal, Rueda may call upon Miguel Borja to return to the starting side, with the striker having hit one of their three goals in the tournament so far in a 2-1 defeat to Peru, while also scoring one of the decisive penalties in the quarter-final shootout.

He could join Zapata in the front two, after Muriel was brought off in the 67th minute of the quarter-final.

Meanwhile, the defensive line should remain unchanged after another impressive performance to see La Tricolor qualify for the semi-finals, with the established pairing of Everton's Yerry Mina and Tottenham Hotspur's Davinson Sanchez expected to continue at the heart of the back four.

They will shield experienced goalkeeper David Ospina, who has arguably been Colombia's key player in the tournament so far with an abundance of key saves to keep them in certain games given the attack's failure to fire them to convincing victories.

The back four will be protected by midfield enforcer Wilmar Barrios, who has been another key cog in their side so far at this year's Copa America.

Colombia possible starting lineup: Ospina; Munoz, Mina, Sanchez, Tesillo; Cuadrado, Barrios, Cuellar, Diaz; Zapata, Borja
