Crawley Town sign Ross Jenkins

Former Watford midfielder Ross Jenkins agrees a short-term contract with League Two outfit Crawley Town.

Ross Jenkins has agreed a deal with League Two outfit Crawley Town.

The 24-year-old, who rose through the ranks at Watford, has been without a permanent club since his release by the Hornets in 2014.

However, following a trial period with Crawley, the midfielder has signed a contract at the Broadfield Stadium that will run until January.

"Ross has got a good pedigree in the game and you can see that in the time he has been with us over the last couple of weeks," manager Mark Yates told the club's official website.

"I think he's an excellent player who can operate anywhere in midfield. Obviously he wants to be playing in the Football League again and we're pleased to have him with us. He give us another option in that area of the team."

Jenkins has been handed the number 22 shirt, which he may wear for the first time against Yeovil Town at the weekend.
