Crewe Alexandra manager Steve Davis has said that he was "pleased" to have extended Danijel Nizic's loan stint with the club.
The goalkeeper arrived at Gresty Road from Burnley in October on an initial one-month deal.
However, with number two keeper Dave Richards still injured, Davis has moved to secure Nizic's services for a further two months.
"We are pleased to have Danijel with us until January. We thought it was necessary to extend his loan because Dave is still a few weeks off," Davis told the club's official website.
"He has been injured for almost six weeks now with his broken bone in his foot and his calf muscle will not be as strong, so he will have to build that back up.
"We are pleased to have Danijel. He wanted to stay and is benefiting from the experience of being in and around a first-team squad."
Nizic is yet to make a senior appearance for Crewe, having so far acted as an understudy to Ben Garratt.
