Crystal Palace assistant Keith Millen has said that Alan Pardew is disappointed to have been sacked as the club's manager.
On Thursday, the Eagles announced that Pardew had been asked to step down from his role, and it appears that Sam Allardyce is the frontrunner to replace him after he arrived at the club's training ground for talks.
Millen has revealed that the club are not in a position to confirm Allardyce's appointment, but he admitted that Pardew was "upset" having lost his position at Selhurst Park.
He told reporters: "The reason I'm here is because the club can't confirm for definite who will be coming in.
"I tried ringing Alan [Pardew] yesterday. We have exchanged text message. He is upset, disappointed but proud of what he has done here. Unfortunately the results have not been good enough."
Palace currently sit in 17th place in the league standings.
