Alan Pardew: 'I could do better job than rival managers at top clubs'

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew believes that he would prove a bigger success than certain managers at a top Premier League club if ever given the chance.

Alan Pardew has suggested that he could be a success at a top side in the Premier League, although he does not intend to leave Crystal Palace any time soon.

The 53-year-old has turned the Eagles' fortunes around since taking over at the turn of the year, winning six out of 10 league games to climb above former employers Newcastle United into 12th place.

Pardew is content with his current project at Selhurst Park, but he has taken a swipe at rival managers by insisting that he would achieve better results if in charge of a title-chasing team.

"I look at the top teams and feel I could do that job better than I'm seeing it being done," he told BBC Sport. "But I'm quite happy where I am and if I work in this part of the league for the rest of my career I will be extremely happy.

"I'm really happy here - I don't really want another job. In a way the [Palace] board have been lucky because even if I have great success here I won't be looking to jump away."

Palace play host to champions Manchester City on Monday night.
