Tony Pulis focuses on wingers

Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis reveals the focus on wing play since his arrival at Selhurst Park.

Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis has revealed that he has done a lot of work on his team's shape since joining the club, with much more focus on wing play.

Pulis has improved results at Selhurst Park after replacing Ian Holloway, lifting Palace out of the relegation zone on goal difference.

Pulis explained that he has used wingers Jason Puncheon and Yannick Bolasie as they have the ability to cause problems for the opposition when they play to their strengths.

"We've worked very, very hard on the shape of the team, on making sure that people are in certain positions at certain times and that everybody knows what they're supposed to do," Pulis told reporters.

"And from that, with the two wide players who've got so much pace and power, we then can cause teams problems.

"But it's very, very important when you work at this level that the team knows what it's doing."

An injury-time winner gave Palace a vital three points in the 1-0 victory over Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
