Newcastle United put three past Crystal Palace

Newcastle United cruise to a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

Newcastle United have cruised to a comfortable 3-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League this afternoon, thanks to goals from Yohan Cabaye, Hatem Ben Arfa and an own-goal from Daniel Gabbidon.

Mile Jedinak began to pull the strings for the hosts early on and he played in Jason Puncheon, though the midfielder's right-footed attempted was blocked on its way to goal.

However, the visitors found the lead in the 25th minute when Cabaye was given the ball by Moussa Sissoko, with the Frenchman's shot deflecting past the Palace keeper.

Palace attempted to pull themselves level in the 30th minute, however Cameron Jerome's effort was kept out from the left-hand corner of the goal by Krul.

The hosts then had themselves to blame as they conceded a second goal, with defender Gabbidon putting into his own net.

Good work from Adrian Mariappa saw him put in a teasing cross after the break, but the resulting attempt from Marouane Chamakh flew wide.

Newcastle wrapped up the three points late on when Ben Arfa converted a penalty in the 86th minute to give the visitors a 3-0 victory.
