Crystal Palace release Shola Ameobi, Brede Hangeland

Shola Ameobi and Brede Hangeland are among the players Crystal Palace are releasing this summer.

Crystal Palace have confirmed plans to release a number of players, including Shola Ameobi and Brede Hangeland.

Jerome Thomas, Peter Ramage, Stephen Dobbie, and Owen Garvan will also leave the Premier League club when their contracts expire this summer.

Palace have offered new deals to Luke Croll, Connor Dymond, Jake Gray and Ryan Inniss.

Hangeland arrived at Selhurst Park from Fulham last summer, but has remained behind fellow defenders Damien Delaney and Scott Dann in the pecking order all season.

Ameobi also failed to hold down first-team football at Selhurst Park under his former Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew.
