Crystal Palace co-owner John Textor denies a report that he is not willing to provide Patrick Vieira with significant transfer funds during the January window.

Co-owner John Textor has hit out at a report claiming that he has no intention of providing Crystal Palace with significant transfer funds during the January window.

Ahead of the break for the World Cup, Palace collected 10 points from six matches, moving the club into 11th place in the Premier League standings.

As a result, the Eagles will resume top-flight action on Boxing Day with the opportunity to move into the top eight of the table, Patrick Vieira's side hosting ninth-placed Fulham.

However, a report in The Sun has suggested that Vieira may not be given a substantial warchest to make further improvements to his squad at Selhurst Park.

The report indicates that co-owner Textor will prioritise Lyon at a time when he plans to complete a takeover of the French club.

Nevertheless, Textor has instead taken to social media to dismiss the claims, stating that he has no intention of reducing his commitment to Palace.

On Twitter, Textor said: "You need new sources Mr. [Alan] Nixon. Palace fans are too smart to believe such nonsense.

"I remain as committed as ever as a partner at Palace. A stronger Eagle Football, with a family that stretches from Brazil to Europe, only gives us more ways to help."

While Vieira is likely to welcome the public comment from Textor, the Palace boss has largely operated with a settled squad since the beginning of August.

Three players have started each of Palace's 14 Premier League fixtures, while three others have featured in every match when including outings from the substitutes' bench.

A further four players have missed just one fixture, with a total of 13 players making appearances in at least 11 of their games in the top tier of English football.

Although Vieira was allowed to sign new players during the previous transfer window, only Chris Richards and Cheick Doucoure could be regarded as contenders for a regular starting spot.

Richards has been limited to just 45 minutes of Premier League football due to injury, the American not making an appearance since the end of August.
