Crystal Palace are allegedly considering making a surprise bid for Inter Milan forward Gabriel Barbosa during the January transfer window.

Inter Milan forward Gabriel Barbosa has allegedly emerged as a surprise transfer target for Crystal Palace.

Barbosa was once regarded as one of the most highly-sought-after prospects in Brazilian football, only for his career to stall when he made the switch to Inter in 2016.

However, despite a failed loan spell at Benfica coming soon afterwards, the 23-year-old has rediscovered his form on loan with Santos and Flamengo ahead of a return to San Siro at the end of this year.

According to Passione Inter, his reunion with the Italian giants could be a short one as Palace are contemplating a big-money approach for the attacker.

The report claims that the Premier League outfit are prepared to meet Inter's asking price, said to be in the region of €30m (£26.11m).

Roy Hodgson's team, who currently sit in sixth position in England's top flight, have scored just eight goals in as many games.
