Saturday's Major League Soccer predictions including LA Galaxy vs. Nashville

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Major League Soccer fixtures, including LA Galaxy vs. Nashville.

Dallas vs. Houston (Saturday, 8.00pm)

FC Dallas head coach Nico Estevez reacts during the match against Nashville SC at Toyota Stadium on March 12, 2022© Reuters

Two sides who have made relatively strong starts to the Major League Soccer campaign will do battle on Saturday, as Dallas welcome Houston Dynamo to the Toyota Stadium.

The teams have each earned three victories and 12 points from the opening seven matches of the league season, with both unbeaten in five MLS outings.

We say: Dallas 2-2 Houston Dynamo

Given the two sides' similar starts, we predict a close encounter and see a draw as the most likely outcome.

They have each shown their ability to find the net at points, and, as a result, we back the two teams to cause each other problems and share the spoils in Dallas.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Philadelphia vs. Montreal (Saturday, 8.00pm)

Top of the Eastern Conference and in a rich vein of form, Philadelphia Union will face a stern test at home to playoff hopefuls CF Montreal on Saturday evening.

Both sides have enjoyed strong starts to the campaign and the pair will be keen to continue this when they meet at Subaru Park.

We say: Philadelphia Union 3-1 CF Montreal

Whether or not the Toronto defeat will prove to have just been a blip for the Union will be found this weekend, as the conference leaders take on more Canadian opposition in Montreal.

With the tools to hurt most teams in this division, expect a confident Union side to shrug off a stuttering Montreal outfit.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Minnesota Utd vs. Chicago Fire (Saturday, 10.00pm)

Two of the top defensive units in Major League Soccer will face off at Allianz Field on Saturday as Minnesota United host the Chicago Fire.

Last weekend, the Loons' offence came to life, defeating the Colorado Rapids 3-1, while Chicago continue to be stingy defensively, playing to a 0-0 draw for the second time this month.

We say: Minnesota United 1-0 Chicago Fire

Dayne St. Clair has earned the chance to have an easy match in goal as he has almost single-handedly kept Minnesota afloat this season, and we do not anticipate that he will have much to do against a passive Chicago side, who have rarely created much in possession.

Expect this to be a tight affair with a Fire squad who are tough to break down, while Minnesota have shown flashes of individual brilliance this year, which should be enough to earn them three points.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

DC United vs. New England (Sunday, 12.30am)

This weekend, DC United come into their match on their worst losing run in two years as they host the New England Revolution on Saturday at Audi Field.

Another defeat would be the fifth straight for DC in this Major League Soccer campaign, their longest such losing streak since 2020, while the Revs are unbeaten in eight consecutive encounters versus the Black and Red.

We say: DC United 1-2 New England Revolution

Neither side have been consistently sharp this season, but the Revs have probably the best chance creator in the league in Carles Gil, who will be a handful for the Black and Red.

DC look tentative defensively, which New England should be able to exploit, and without Kamara, it is hard to know who will pose a threat up front for their new coach.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.

Austin vs. Vancouver (Sunday, 1.30am)

Austin FC return to Major League Soccer action this weekend with a chance to break their franchise record for consecutive victories when they host the Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday at Q2 Stadium.

After a furious 3-2 comeback win last week versus DC United, the Verde and Black have won two straight domestic encounters, while the Caps saw another second half comeback fall short, losing 2-1 to CF Montreal.

We say: Austin FC 2-1 Vancouver Whitecaps

Kansas vs. Columbus Crew (Sunday, 1.30am)

A pair of slumping Major League Soccer teams return to action on Saturday as Sporting Kansas City host the Columbus Crew at Children's Mercy Park.

Kansas City have lost three in a row, falling 3-1 at Los Angeles FC last weekend, while the Crew were knocked out of the U.S. Open Cup this week, losing 2-1 to USL side Detroit City.

We say: Sporting Kansas City 1-1 Columbus Crew

These may be the two most underwhelming sides in MLS as they each have the quality and experience to contend for the title, but thus far have not shown that consistently.

Despite each team being technically gifted, neither one have been able to show that killer instinct in front of goal, and because of that expect this to be a low-scoring affair.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 2.5 goals.

Colorado vs. Charlotte FC (Sunday, 2.00am)

Eastern Conference outfit Charlotte FC travel to Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Sunday, when they will face Colorado Rapids, who currently sit 10th in the Western Conference.

Both sides are looking to bounce back from defeats in the league, while they have recorded similar starts to the campaign with Charlotte collecting nine points and Colorado picking up eight points so far.

We say: Colorado Rapids 1-1 Charlotte FC

The Rapids will be pleased to be back on home soil but their confidence must have been knocked after four games without a win, which is why they may not have enough to claim three points in this encounter.

Charlotte are expected to be fatigued after a midweek match, but they should have learned after four away losses in the league how to avoid defeat this time around.

Portland vs. Salt Lake (Sunday, 3.00am)

After taking to the road for their last two matches, Portland Timbers return to Providence Park this Saturday for an MLS encounter with Real Salt Lake.

The hosts currently occupy ninth spot in the Western Conference, while the Claret and Cobalt are two points better off in sixth position.

We say: Portland Timbers 2-1 Real Salt Lake

Although Portland are currently two points behind their oppontents, they have won their last four competitive meetings with Real Salt Lake, and as they seem to have the upper hand in recent duels, we think the hosts will claim all three points on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

Earthquakes vs. Seattle (Sunday, 3.00am)

San Jose Earthquakes forward Cade Cowell (44) celebrates with midfielder Niko Tsakiris (30) after scoring a goal against the Austin FC during the second half at PayPal Park on April 3, 2022© Reuters

San Jose Earthquakes will begin life without Matias Almeyda when they face Seattle Sounders on Saturday after a seven-game winless run to begin the MLS resulted in the 48-year-old being relieved of his duties.

The visitors have also had a shaky start to the MLS season, collecting seven points from their opening six matches.

We say: San Jose Earthquakes 1-1 Seattle Sounders

We think that if Seattle Sounders rest key players once again that three points at the weekend may be out of their reach, and with the last three of San Jose's MLS home games ending all square, we think that another draw will be played out on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 2.5 goals.

LA Galaxy vs. Nashville (Sunday, 3.30am)

Los Angeles Galaxy head coach Greg Vanney reacts to a play against the Seattle Sounders FC during the second half at Lumen Field on March 12, 2022© Reuters

Los Angeles Galaxy can extend their current unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions with a positive result against Nashville SC on Saturday.

The visitors, meanwhile, are undefeated in their last three matches, and they can leapfrog their hosts in the Western Conference with a victory at Dignity Health Sports Park.

We say: Los Angeles Galaxy 1-1 Nashville SC

Saturday's contest represents the first meeting between the two sides, and with Nashville fully aware that a run of three consecutive home games are coming up in their new stadium, we think they will be content with holding their hosts to a draw on Saturday.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
