The agent of Debrecen midfielder Jozsef Varga has revealed that England "is the primary destination" for his client this summer.
Middlesbrough have been strongly linked with the 25-year-old, but thus far no official contact has been made between the two clubs.
"There are more possibilities from more countries. But at the moment England is the primary destination," his agent Vladan Filipovics told Nemzeti Sport.
"It's true that he's contracted to Debrecen but this can't be a problem if the two clubs can agree. I hope that his future will be decided within a short time, maybe we can finalise his club change this week.
"It would be also important for the player to start the pre-season at his new club as it could help him to adapt faster."
Varga finished last season on loan at Greuther Furth.
