Darren Bent has called on Derby County to be "relentless" in the coming season as they chase promotion to the Premier League.
The striker joined the Rams on a permanent deal from Aston Villa last month after scoring 12 goals in a loan spell last season.
After losing the playoff final in 2013-14, Derby missed out on the Championship's top six last season by winning just two of their last 13 games to drop from the automatic promotion places to eighth.
"Last season was disappointing in the end so we want to hit everything head on," Bent told the club website.
"We want to reach the promised land and that is our goal. Derby have missed out in each of the last two seasons so hopefully I can help the team achieve their goal this time.
"This time we perhaps need to be a bit more relentless and go for it from the start until the very end."
The Rams, who are the bookies' favourite for promotion this season, begin their season with a trip to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, August 8.
