The Albanian Under-21 international has been snapped up by the Bees on an emergency month-long deal, which runs until March 18.
Swiss-born Gjokaj has made six first-team appearances for the Rams, but has not featured this season.
The 20-year-old centre-half also had a loan spell with League One side Carlisle United last term, making one appearance for the Cumbrians.
