Scottish Premiership roundup: Aberdeen close the gap on leaders Celtic

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's Scottish Premiership action as Aberdeen close the gap on leaders Celtic and bad weather postpones three games.

Aberdeen have closed the gap on league leaders Celtic after they beat Dundee at Dens Park in the lunchtime kickoff.

Niall McGinn opened up the scoring for the Dons inside the opening 10 minutes, before Adam Rooney doubled the lead 15 minutes later to seal all three points.

Abdereen move within four points of Celtic but Ronny Deila's side have a game in hand, due to their game being postponed against Hamilton Academical for bad weather.

Bad weather affected two other games in the Scottish Premiership, as Hearts's game with Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Partick's fixture with Motherwell both fell victim to the weather.

St. Johnstone won a five-goal thriller against Ross County late on, after David Mackay scored with just two minutes left of normal time.

Ten-man Kilmarnock held on to a point against Dundee United, after Billy McKay's penalty cancelled out Kris Boyd's early opener.

Results in full (half-time scores in brackets): Dundee FC 0-2 Aberdeen (0-2), Celtic P-P Hamilton Academical, Hearts P-P Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Kilmarnock 1-1 Dundee United (1-1), Partick P-P Motherwell, Ross County 2-3 St. Johnstone (0-2)
