Everton manager David Moyes has stated his belief that Phil Jagielka is the best central defender available to England boss Roy Hodgson.
The Toffees have kept six clean sheets in Jagielka's last nine appearances and the Scot believes that the 29-year-old is perfectly suited to international football.
Moyes told the Daily Mail: "Phil Jagielka is suited for England because of what he can offer.
"He's quick over the ground and he's not as straight up and down as [Gary] Cahill or [John] Terry, or [Rio] Ferdinand to a certain extent."
Hodgson will name his 23-man squad for Euro 2012 on Wednesday.
