Roy Hodgson decides not to replace Andy Carroll in his England squad for World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine next week.

England manager Roy Hodgson has decided not to replace Andy Carroll in his squad for next week's World Cup Qualifiers.

Carroll was forced to withdraw after picking up a hamstring injury on his West Ham United debut against Fulham on Saturday.

Hodgson is already without Wayne Rooney as he recovers from a wounded thigh, but has decided not to add to his forward options for matches against Moldova and Ukraine.

Danny Welbeck, Jermain Defoe and Daniel Sturridge are now the only recognised strikers in Hodgson's squad for their first games on the road to securing a place in Brazil for 2014.
