Sam Allardyce described West Ham United's action in the transfer window as a "dream".

West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has praised the club's officials after a "dream transfer window" this summer.

Allardyce has brought a number of players to Upton Park after their promotion to the Premier League.

Andy Carroll was arguably The Hammers' marquee signing of the window, joining on a season-long loan from Liverpool. The striker put in an impressive performance on his debut in the 3-0 victory over Fulham on Saturday, leading the former Bolton boss to thank the club's owners for the transfers.

"I think you could say this was a dream transfer window for me," said Allardyce.

"It's a gruelling task finding the right players.

"But Karren Brady, David Sullivan, David Gold and myself have really gone to town and pressed the button on a lot of things we wanted to do."

Carroll picked up an injury in the game against Fulham, ruling him out of England World Cup qualifiers.
