Everton manager Roberto Martinez has claimed that Ross Barkley can handle anything that is asked of him while on England duty.
After missing the early stages of the season with a knee injury, Barkley was recalled to the England squad by Roy Hodgson for Saturday's Euro 2016 qualifier with Slovenia and the friendly against Scotland.
Despite the pressure being piled on the 20-year-old to fulfil his potential, Martinez is certain that the attacking midfielder is already prepared to play a key role for England.
"I think Ross showed last season for Everton that the bigger the game the bigger the performance," the Spaniard told members of the media.
"He has shown that he's ready to take responsibility and that he's someone who doesn't see the emotion that surrounds the game, all he sees is that he's someone who wants to enjoy his football.
"Ability-wise he's as talented as you're going to see so it's about ensuring the team suits Ross as well as Ross suits the team but he's ready for anything you throw at him."
Barkley, who played at the World Cup in the summer, has won nine caps for England.
