QPR boss Chris Ramsey confident of England call-up for Charlie Austin

Queens Park Rangers boss Chris Ramsey is confident that Charlie Austin's time will come for England, despite being left out of the recent squad.

Queens Park Rangers manager Chris Ramsey believes that it is "only a matter of time" before Charlie Austin gets called into the England squad.

The 25-year-old, who has scored 15 goals in the Premier League so far this season, was overlooked by Roy Hodgson for matches against Lithuania and Italy.

Instead, Tottenham Hotspur youngster Harry Kane was given the nod, but Ramsey believes that if Austin keeps impressing at club level, he will get his chance.

"It's a very prestigious thing to be called up to England," Ramsey said in this morning's press conference. "There aren't many people in there life that get such an honour.

"If Charlie keeps putting in the performance and scoring goals it's only a matter of time before he gets picked. There's been a lot of talk about him getting in the squad, but people know that he's a quality player and a quality person."

QPR are four points away from safety in the Premier League.
