Harry Redknapp: 'England must develop own style'

Harry Redknapp believes that England must learn to develop a style of play through the youth teams and into the first XI.

Queens Park Rangers manager Harry Redknapp has insisted that the England national team must learn to develop a style of football to play through all age groups if they are to succeed in international football.

England did not win a match in the recent World Cup and ended bottom of their group, which has seen them drop 10 places in the most recent FIFA world rankings.

"How do we play the game, what is the England style of play?" BBC Sport quotes Redknapp as saying.

"Everyone should play the same way, Under-17s and Under-18s, we should be playing in the same way. "I see people getting involved coaching England's younger teams and are they people who want to play football? I don't think they are."

Redknapp was thought to be in the running for the England job before it was offered to Roy Hodgson.
