Adam Lallana has said that he hopes he has impressed enough to earn a place in the England starting lineup for their World Cup opener against Italy.
The Southampton midfielder played for 73 minutes as England recorded a 3-0 win in their friendly match against Peru on Friday evening.
Lallana has made four appearances for the national side since making his debut last November, but he is confident that he can play a key role at this summer's tournament in Brazil.
"It's a strange feeling, you want to take it all in, but you feel like it's happening so quickly," FIFA.com quotes him as saying.
"Getting in the starting line-up in Manaus is what everyone's striving for and hopefully I've done enough tonight to impress the manager and show him what I'm capable of."
Lallana has reportedly been the subject of a £25m bid from Liverpool.
