Gareth Southgate monitors Tunisia, Panama ahead of World Cup

Gareth Southgate admits that his team need to do their homework ahead of England's fixtures against Tunisia and Panama.

England manager Gareth Southgate has revealed that he is gathering intelligence on World Cup group stage opponents Tunisia and Panama.

The Three Lions will also face Belgium in Group G this summer, but Southgate's charges will be more familiar with the Red Devils players.

Neither Tunisia nor Panama have any Premier League players to select from, and Southgate has admitted that his team have some revision to do.

"We've seen all their last seven or eight games," he told Sky Sports News.

"They played again in March with one or two changes, particularly Panama who played a slightly different system. We've got to keep across that. The individuals we don't know as well as Belgium, but the system and style of play is of more interest than specific individuals because that's what dictates how we might press or build up in the games.

"It's a good challenge and it's nice to be preparing for different teams."

England beat the Netherlands and drew against Italy in their most recent cluster of international friendlies ahead of the group stages in Russia.
